Manufacturing process

From the preparation of peat bogs to the final manufacturing processes in the warehouse, each step in the peat moss production is carefully managed to ensure quality and sustainability. Peat bogs are first prepared for harvest, followed by a controlled extraction process using sustainable methods.

Once collected, the peat is transported to our facilities where it undergoes thorough quality checks, screening, and blending according to product specifications.

Finally, the peat moss is packaged and stored in our warehouse, ready for distribution. Every stage is designed to deliver high-quality products while minimizing environmental impact.

1

Peat moss extraction

Before each harvest season, we narrowly prepare our peat bogs. We apply diverse harvesting techniques, such as vacuum and block harvesting, to ensure efficiency.

Committed to sustainability, our methods focus on minimal environmental impact and promote the regeneration of peat bogs.

2

Manufacturing

After harvesting from the peat bogs, we ensure the peat moss is stored correctly to maintain its quality. Initial quality checks involve sampling and rigorous testing.

The peat moss is then transferred to bunkers for pre-screening, followed by precise screening of different fractions and blending as necessary to meet specific requirements. Each batch of finished peat moss product is sampled again to guarantee quality.

For substrate production, we blend natural peat moss with top-quality additives in our mixing bunkers, tailoring the mixture to meet diverse plant growth needs based on client specifications.

3

Packing

Our packing process corresponds to the European standard EN 12580 to ensure precise volume measurements. We use automated packing machines to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. Our packaging options include small bags and big bales formats, catering to various needs.

Each step of our process is designed with careful consideration for transportation and storage. This includes;

  • careful labeling of bags,
  • thorough checks to confirm the packing quality,
  • secure storage in our warehouse to maintain product integrity until delivery.

Peat gathering

Peat gathering is a labor-intensive process that relies heavily on skilled human workforce. While technology plays a significant role in improving efficiency and precision, human expertise remains essential in various stages of the operation.

From preparing the peat bogs for harvesting to overseeing extraction and quality control, the hands-on involvement of workers ensures that each step is performed carefully and sustainably.

The human workforce is crucial not only in managing the machinery but also in adapting to changing environmental and logistical challenges, maintaining high standards of sustainability and product quality throughout the process.

Supervised production

Initial quality checks involve sampling the harvested peat to assess its moisture content, pH level, and overall composition. These samples are severely tested in our laboratory to ensure the product meets strict quality standards.

By conducting these assessments early in the process, we can identify any necessary adjustments before the peat moves on to further screening and blending stages, guaranteeing that only the highest-quality peat reaches the final production line.
